Been to the
Signal Box in Anstey to have a look at their model railways accessories. My plan is to use these less fragile models to continue the small world project.
Whilst I love my plasticine people they are quite fragile. I took them on holiday with me and had them having a confrontation on a mountain (will post those images when I have processed them - finally done it and you'll find them here). An earlier part of this project was photographing a friends model railway. The images were very interesting and gave me a lot of inspiration. As I no longer have access to that set-up I thought I would use the idea and develop it.
There is a model railway exhibition in Loughborough in September. If things are going well with this collection of people and props I might go along and see what other inspiration there is and if there are any bargains.
00 gauge is what I've chosen as the figures are manageable. I did look at N gauge but think they are too small and I will lose them too quickly. Also if I want to introduce livestock they will be minuscule in N gauge - in fact none existent.
I'll introduce you the family of people and props that have arrived today.
Families:

This is 'Passers-by, Policeman' - although there is no policeman! |

|
'Railway workers' |

Reliant Scimitar GTE |

VW Golf GTi - I always wanted one and an 'X' reg too. |
I have so many smashing ideas I cannot wait to get started on this. I have a new friend who has said they will raid their old railway set and see if there are an 00 gauge buildings. My creativity fingers are beginning to tingle! Lovely.
I cannot explain the immense pleasure I am getting from this idea and making it happen. How can such small pieces of plastic lead to so much fun and laughter?
