Met a fellow photographer at an event on Saturday and he handed me his card. We had a quick chat about photography and his work and I asked if he did many weddings as his business card had a photo of a wedding cake on it. He said he did. I asked if I could assist him at some point.
Got 5 minutes today (in amongst all the weird things that are happening) to send him an email to make contact and make sure he realises I am serious about assisting. Had a look at his website too.
Will wait to hear back from him.
